Royalcrest® Diamond is a registered, patented cut of Merit Diamond Corporation. The Royalcrest cut was introduced to the market in 1993, after nearly three-and-a-half years of development.
The shape of the cut is rectangular, with a multifaceted, arched table that reflects and refracts light from any angle at the top of the diamond. The step facets on the arched table run across the stone. The number of facets varies for each diamond in order to maximize brilliance.
Rough is selected in order to maintain SI2 or better quality stones of J color or whiter for this patented cut. The yield from a perfect crystal is about 65 percent.
Merit’s logo trademark is stamped inside the shank of a Royalcrest diamond ring. The company also stamps the exact center stone weight and total stone weight on its ring shanks.
