The Jubilant Crown™, which was introduced in 2002, was inspired by the Jubilee Cut produced during the reign of Queen Victoria. The cut is from Gem International, a leading New York City-based manufacturer and importer specializing in fine white diamonds ranging from .01 to 4 carats.
Inspired by the “double pavilion” style round diamond cut designed for Queen Victoria’s Jubilee celebration, the patented Jubilant Crown® design truly has more brilliance than the standard round brilliant. The designer added an additional row of facets on the crown (top) of the diamond which reduces the size of table (largest facet) on top. This creates more of a “geodesic dome” shape on the top of the diamond which allows more sparkle and brilliance.
The Jubilant Crown cut enhances the beauty of an ordinary diamond and is characterized by 16 additional facets to the crown; added scintillation, brilliance and dispersion and a small table. There are 73 facets in a Jubilant Crown diamond: 49 on the crown and 24 on the pavilion. Table sizes range from 40 to 45 percent. Total depth range is 60 to 63 percent. Jubilant Crown diamonds are girdle-inscribed with the stone’s name and official registration number.
